OMAHA, Neb. — July 1, 2026 — Thiele Geotech is pleased to announce the acquisition of RDG Geoscience & Engineering, effective June 30, 2026. This strategic acquisition strengthens Thiele Geotech’s environmental consulting capabilities while expanding its presence across Nebraska, Iowa, and surrounding markets.
For nearly 36 years, RDG Geoscience & Engineering has earned a strong reputation for technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and long-standing client relationships. The firm specializes in environmental investigation and remediation, particularly petroleum release assessment and cleanup, and has supported clients throughout the Midwest and on projects nationwide.
RDG’s expertise includes:
- Environmental site assessments
- Petroleum release investigation and remediation
- Groundwater monitoring
- Remediation system design, installation, and operation
- Asbestos inspections
- Environmental regulatory compliance and reporting
A significant component of the acquisition is RDG’s long-standing SPARC contract with the State of Nebraska under the Nebraska Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Program. RDG has successfully managed this contract since 2001, and the State has assigned the contract to Thiele Geotech as part of the transition.
“This acquisition is an exciting opportunity for our company,” said Robert Lapke, P.E., President of Thiele Geotech. “RDG has built an outstanding reputation over the past three decades, and we’re proud to welcome their talented team into the Thiele family. Their expertise complements our existing environmental services, allowing us to provide even greater value to our clients while continuing the exceptional service RDG customers have come to expect.”
The acquisition adds seven full-time environmental professionals to the Thiele Geotech team, along with one short-term part-time employee during the transition period. To ensure continuity for clients and staff, the RDG team will continue operating from its current office on Sapp Brothers Drive through the remainder of the year while preparations are made to integrate the team into Thiele Geotech’s Omaha headquarters.
For the foreseeable future, the business will continue operating as RDG Geoscience & Engineering, a Thiele Geotech Company, allowing clients to experience a seamless transition while benefiting from the expanded resources and expertise of both organizations.
The acquisition reflects Thiele Geotech’s continued commitment to investing in specialized environmental services and delivering practical, science-based solutions to clients throughout the region.
Thiele Geotech welcomes the RDG team and looks forward to building on the strong relationships and technical expertise that have made both organizations trusted partners for environmental consulting and engineering services.
