The City of Omaha has adopted a new concrete mix design and Thiele Geotech is proud to have played a key role in its development. From the initial design work to the selection of high-quality aggregates, our team was deeply involved in shaping a mix that prioritizes long-term durability and improved freeze-thaw resistance.
We believe in this new mix so strongly that we decided to put it to the test—literally—by replacing a large section of our main entrance parking lot pavement using the new Portland cement concrete mixture. One of the key advantages of this mix is its ability to reduce chemical deterioration at sawed joints, a common issue in pavements exposed to harsh Midwest weather and de-icing salts.
By implementing this concrete mixture on our own property, we’re standing behind the science—and standing on it, too.
We’re excited to see how this design improves performance for the City of Omaha and sets a new standard for infrastructure resilience in our community.
